I.    Purpose of the website / Information purposes


Our website is for information purposes only. We reserve the right to change or update the content of this website without prior notice. Although care is taken to ensure the accuracy and validity of the information published, no guarantee is given as to the accuracy, precision, reliability or completeness of this information. A shall not be liable for any use made of the information on this website.
Searching for information on this website or contacting us by email, contact form, telephone or in any other way does not constitute an engagement (mandate) with Advokatur Villiger.

We do not provide services to private individuals in the EU. 

 

II.    Privacy Statement

 

We will handle and protect your personal information (the "Data") in accordance with applicable laws and contractual provisions. The Data will be stored by us and our external IT provider and will be used primarily to take steps at your request before entering into and/or carrying out an engagement, to document the engagement, to invoice for our services or to enforce legal rights.

The Data includes data that we receive from you when you communicate with Advokatur Villiger by telephone, e-mail, contact form, in personal meetings or otherwise, and data that we receive through our correspondence with third parties (e.g. clients, counterparties, authorities and courts, including their contacts and employees) in the course of providing our services. The Date may include name and contact details, job title, date of birth, information about your employment, income, family and health. Where appropriate, we may collect information from websites or public registers. 

If you provide information to us through a third party (your employee or other contact person), it is your responsibility to inform them of the use of the information by us or other external service providers by providing them with an appropriate privacy statement.

Our email and web hosting providers are Swiss companies with servers located in Switzerland. Our email provider is ISO 27001 certified.

This website is encrypted. Upon your written request, email communication (only) between you and Villiger Law Firm may also be encrypted. In this case, installations on your computer are required. However, encryption is not possible with regard to the name of the sender, the recipient, the subject line or for e-mail communication with third parties. Unencrypted e-mail communications are not secure and third party e-mail providers or storage may be located in countries without adequate data protection laws. 

The use of video communication or Internet telephony tools (Skype, Zoom, etc.) must be agreed in advance only in exceptional cases. There may be risks relating to data protection and professional secrecy for which we cannot accept any liability.

No tracking software (such as Google Analytics etc.) is installed on this website. We record log files such as your IP address, time, date, browser request, referrer, browser version, system software or other general browser information in order to comply with the requirements of Swiss law or for troubleshooting purposes. For the contact form, the Google Captcha software is installed, which stores temporary cookies in order to reload your data entered in the contact form in case of error or to prevent spam. The data entered in the contact form may be transferred to the USA. You can disable all or some of the cookies in your browser settings. However, this may affect some of the features of this website. 

We link our website to third party websites such as Google Maps. Please read the Google LLC privacy policy to learn more about how Google LLC uses your information. 

Please also refer to the privacy policies of other third parties. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of such third parties or the content of their websites. 
Despite our measures to protect the Data, we cannot exclude the possibility of unauthorised access, interception, storage, misuse, manipulation or deletion of the Data, in particular as a result of cybercrime (hacking, viruses, malware, phishing, etc.). We assume that you are aware of and accept these risks and accept them when you communicate with us, in particular via electronic communication tools, including the contact form. 

Your payment details may be sent by the bank or a payment service provider (such as "Sumup") to parties outside Switzerland (e.g. for record keeping etc.).

To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim any liability for any material or immaterial damages of any kind arising out of any breach of privacy or trade secrets caused by the conduct of us, our agents or third parties.

It is not necessary for you or your employees and contacts to agree to this privacy statement, as this statement is for information purposes only. We reserve the right to unilaterally amend this Privacy Policy from time to time. 

We will keep the Data for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purpose of the mandate or as required by Swiss law (normally 10 years), or if we have an overriding private or public interest in doing so.  

The data subjects have the right to be informed about the storage and use of their data by us, and the right to obtain, correct, delete or restrict the use of the data and to take the appropriate legal action. Please note, however, that there are exceptions to these rights. To the extent permitted by law or required by law, we may refuse such requests, particularly with respect to legal requirements for retention or if it would interfere with the performance of the engagement.

The court at the registered office of Advokatur Villiger shall have exclusive jurisdiction to adjudicate any disputes arising in connection with this website or with the services of Adovkatur Villiger.
